Coney Island! was Game Plan's second most produced machine next
to SharpShooter. The layout is a mirror image of SharpShooter with
a few changes. The exclamation in the title word "Island!"
was added so it contained the same number of characters as "Shooter".
This way, the same drop target assembly could be used between Coney
Island! and SharpShooter and probably added easier programming of
the ROMs. We refer to this machine as "Coney Island!"
instead of "Old Coney Island!" as it is named on the backglass
because the original service manual refers to it as "Coney
Island". Plus, only the letters C,O,N,E,Y,I,S,L,A,N,D,! appear
on the playfield.
